NCLC Helps Facilitate Purchase of Coastal Forestland

In September 2021, a conservation consortium—including NCLC, Columbia Land Trust and Sustainable Northwest—partnered with GreenWood Resources to conserve more than 2,500 acres of productive forestland along the coast. The project will protect the working forest from future development or subdivision, ensure tribal and public access, and preserve water quality through Columbia Land Trust’s purchase of a conservation easement, funded in part by NCLC. • The conserved land will remain open to indigenous tribes for cultural uses and the public for low-impact recreation including deer and elk hunting.
